It’s easy to get to Balerno from wherever you are in and around Edinburgh. You can reach us by bus, train, car, cycle or your own two feet!
Take the Lothian 44 bus to the Balerno Main Street stop. Walk a short distance and turn left on High Street.
Cycle / Walk
There are many bike and walking trails that lead into Balerno. You can get to us from the Water of Leith, Pentland Hills, Harlaw Reservoir, Glencorse View, Blackhall Path and many more. We have bike racks right outside the front door.

From Edinburgh, take the ScotRail train to Currie Station. From the station, take a 5 minute taxi, hop on the 44 bus (just a short distance from the train station) or walk about 30 minutes (1.8 miles) to Balerno.
If you’re driving from Edinburgh City Centre, Balerno is about 30 minutes (9miles). Take the A70 to Bridge Road in Balerno (5.7 miles). At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Colinton Road. Turn right onto Craiglockhart Avenue and go about .4 mile. Turn left onto Lanark Road/A70 and go about 4.5 miles. Continue onto Bridge Road to Main Street.
