Visit Balerno

It’s easy to get to Balerno from wherever you are in and around Edinburgh. You can reach us by bus, train, car, cycle or your own two feet!

Bus

Take the Lothian 44 bus to the Balerno  Main Street stop. Walk a short distance and turn left on High Street.

Cycle / Walk

There are many bike and walking trails that lead into Balerno. You can get to us from the Water of Leith, Pentland Hills, Harlaw Reservoir, Glencorse View, Blackhall Path and many more. We have bike racks right outside the front door.

Train

From Edinburgh, take the ScotRail train to Currie Station. From the station, take a 5 minute taxi, hop on the 44 bus (just a short distance from the train station) or walk about 30 minutes (1.8 miles) to Balerno.

Car

If you’re driving from Edinburgh City Centre, Balerno is about 30 minutes (9miles).

Although there is no dedicated guest car parking facilities. There is ample parking in the close vicinity of the main street including two public car parks, all within a minutes walk from us. But please, unless you have an appropriate exemption DO NOT park on the main street or directly behind Balerno Inn as those spaces are allocate to lovely residents.
