Terms and Conditions on our journey to opening. 

  • Maximum party size at is 6 from no more than 2 households.
  • Multiple bookings to circumnavigate maximum party size rules are not permitted.
  • All guests must remain seated for duration of visit unless visiting the loo.
  • If you must leave you must wear your mask while you move around the building interior.
  • We’re not the social distance police; it’s a job for us all. If we think you are choosing to flaunt Scottish government advice you will be required to leave.
  • Pre-authorization deposits are only ever redeemed if you no-show and do not contact us in advance. A no show is recorded if you have not arrived 30mins after your booking time with no contact.
  • You must respect our staffs space and keep your social distance
  • Please follow staff direction and follow floor signage.
  • All reservations are subject to cancellation in the event of adverse weather conditions, revised government guidance, government instructions.
  • We have no waiting area inside. To guarantee your table you must pre book.
  • We’ve invested in sanitising stations. Please use them when you enter our building and when you depart.
  • Your table is reserved from the time it is booked for a period of two hours- if you are late in arriving, we will still require your table to be vacated at the original end time.
  • It may not be possible to fulfil requests for specific tables including bothys.
  • When you book we trust that you are following Scottish Government advice at the time of your visit about who you can sit. Currently 2 households, max 6 attendees other than children under 12 years.
  • Our toilets are frequently cleaned by staff, you should follow any guidance or instructions given by our staff.
  • If one of our team members declines to supply, you with more alcohol please respect this decision, this is for your safety.
  • Scottish licensing prohibits us from serving alcohol to guests who we deem intoxicated. Our decision is final and non-negotiable.
  • Smoking is not permitted in any of the licensed areas outside the property.
  • Please check with a member of The Balerno Inn team before ordering as some main courses may take up to 30 minutes to serve.
  • • Our food is made freshly on the premises & may contain traces of allergens therefore we are unable to guarantee that any product is allergen free. Please let us know if you suffer from any food allergies or dietary restrictions and we will facilitate you with specific dish ingredients to help you select with full knowledge.
  • We use un-pasteurized cheeses in our kitchen – please let us know if you would like an alternative.
  • An optional service charge of 10% is added to parties of 4 or more
